American Airlines Federal Credit Union Announces 2009 Scholarship Winners
Since 2004, American Airlines Federal Credit Union (AA Credit Union) has supported its young member-owners with scholarship award opportunities for higher education. This year, the credit union was pleased to once again award a total of eight scholarships. Seven $2,000 scholarships were awarded to high school seniors, and one $2,000 scholarship was awarded to a current college student.

UNCF -- the United Negro College Fund -- today announced that the nation's largest and most successful minority scholarship program -- the Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS) -- has awarded good-through-graduation college scholarships to 1,000 students from low-income families. The 5,000 current Gates Scholars attend over 900 schools, including Ivy League colleges, flagship state universities and minority serving institutions including historically black colleges (HBCUs).
